There’s a Terminator crossover coming as part of Call Of Duty Season 4, but only involves making two of its characters playable.

Renew:

Activision is now officially acknowledging the Terminator crossover, more than just a Twitter tease.

However, there’s nothing quite as fancy as the Godzilla and King Kong shows from last season. Instead, it simply involves adding the original T-800 (Arnie) from the first film and the T-1000 from the sequel as playable carriers.

Both will arrive as part of a mid-season update in a limited-time bundle. Until then, we have some new promo art but no screenshots or in-game footage.

original story

The fourth season of content for Call Of Duty: Vanguard and Call Of Duty: Warzone will kick off today, and Activision has confirmed that it will feature a crossover with the Terminator franchise.

The update doesn’t go live until 5 p.m. BST this afternoon and Activision hasn’t made it clear what kind of Terminator content will be included, but they’re not trying to keep it a secret.

Other classic 80s action films have appeared in Call Of Duty, namely Rambo and Die Hard, with each of the main protagonists being playable. Godzilla and King Kong also appear in the latest crossover.

It’s probably safe to assume that we’ll see at least one playable Terminator character, be it Sarah Connor or Arnold Schwarzenegger’s own Terminator.

Hopefully, their character models won’t look as outlandish as Rambo and John McClane.

First teaser for crossover made via official Twitter Call of Duty account, with a picture of a gold bar around it that looks like it’s made of silver or platinum.

The second teaser image reveals that it’s actually a mimetic polyalloy, a material used to make certain Terminator models and give them the ability to change shape.

To make it even clearer, the material is also emblazoned with the Skynet logo and accompanied by the message ‘Take this intel as fast as you can…they’ll be back,’ a clear reference to the franchise’s iconic catchphrase.

Given that the polyalloy is more related to the T-1000, the Terminator model was featured in the second sequel film, presumably the one Activision characters will include.

What time is Call Of Duty: Warzone update?

Activision website has a roadmap for Season 4, which has revealed other upcoming content such as a new map for Warzone and the return of the round-based Zombies mode.

We’ll have to wait until 5 p.m. BST, on June 22, to see what exactly the new update brings but having the option to replace Zombies with an army of Terminators would make for a fitting inclusion.

Or it could be as enemies roaming the map during Warzone matches, similar to the Godzilla and King Kong events from last season.

Call Of Duty: Vanguard is available for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, and PC.
