The prequel will focus on the story of 18-year-old Coriolanus, who Hunger Games fans will already know as the tyrannical president of Panem, years before he rose to power.
The film’s official synopsis reads: “Coriolanus Snow is the last hope for his fading lineage, a once proud family that has fallen from grace in the postwar Capitol.
With the 10th annual Hunger Games fast approaching, young Snow is surprised when she is assigned to mentor Lucy Gray Baird (Zegler), a poor tribute girl from District 12. However, after Lucy Gray commands all of Panem’s attention by singing defiantly during the harvest ceremony, Snow thought he might be able to turn the odds in their favor.”
