On October 31 2018, Anne-Elisabeth Hagen mysteriously disappear from his home in Norway. A ransom note was the only clue as to where he was. In Netflix’s new Norwegian crime series “The Lørenskog Disappearance,” the unsolved case of billionaire Tom Hagen’s (Terje Strømdahl, “Hodejegerne”) missing wife is explained, leaving viewers wondering: was this really a kidnapping, or a domestic murder. ?

As the pilot begins, viewers are told that while the show is based on real events, some changes have been made for dramatic effect. More specifically, the stories covered in the episodes did happen, but some names and dates were changed. Nevertheless, it is a relatively accurate depiction of Anne-Elisabeth’s disappearance.

In the opening shot, the viewer gets a glimpse of what might happen on the morning of October 31. We see a woman alone in her house being viciously attacked by two people. They apparently knocked him unconscious, put him in a body bag and left, leaving only a note. After a dramatic buildup, we see that this is just a test run by the police to test how long the kidnapping can last.
